Rolling the Dice in the D

Dice is a key player in the Detroit underground hip hop game.
Dice has been in the rap game since 1992 and he fully represents the streets of Detroit in their harshness and realness.
In his DICE track assaults you lyrically on a harsh instrumental background and he will make you feel unsafe. He’s a Detroit mack and he is not playing. High on weed and smoking crack, getting bitches to sell their pussies, Dice introduces you into a typical gangsta ghetto atmosphere made of alcohol and drug addiction.
The keyboard sounds and beats add to the insecure and scary ambiance.
I recommend this track to people who are fond of Detroit sounds.
Cocaine is taken out of Dice’s Black Monday album.
The track is nicely introduced by some soft , oriental balalaika sounds. Follow Dice’s story of drug deals. From Columbia to America, cocaine business is quite flourishing. The song’s melody and lyrics are very much enjoyable. Dice puts a surrealistic atmosphere in this song.
Original and well handled, Cocaine is certainly worth your attention. Nod your head to the rhythmic and entertaining track.
Good Morning America is introduced by Dice’s raspy voice and some rhythmic beats. Based rich instrumentals, the melody will lead you into Dice’s world. Dice is an eye opener. He will make you feel American society’s disease. Welcome to the streets of America’s ghettos. Feel the insecurity, feel people’s pain and misery. Dice is an American Dream destructor. He shows you the streets in their ugliness. While comfortable people will draw you a picture of a beautiful and safe world, Dice will fuck with their brains and show them his underworld where people’s struggle to survive is a constant fight. The track is musically very interesting too: the melody makes you feel the pain, the rage and the huge insecurity. It is also enriched by some reggae notes.
Homie Don’t starts with electric guitar and keyboard sounds. The track has a definitely an old school style that might made you think about Ice Cube’s tracks. Dice has a nice flow delivery and rap lovers will enjoy aimed at some bitches and hoes playing with men as if they were toys.

Now that you know a little bit more about Bareda, discover Raw Collection

Detroit underground group Raw Collection is composed of Bareda aka Mr Wrong, Reddbone, Lodown, Sky Scrilla and Vanzetti. Mainly influenced by NWA, Tha Dogg Pound and Eminem, the Detroit group attracted my attention three years ago while listening to D12’s Swifty’s Grenade Pins mixtape. Reddbone’s talent in particular, her offensive lyrics combined with a raw voice managed to impress me.
All That I’ve Learned starts with an electronic background voice. Have you ever felt like you are lonely in your struggle, in your world, fighting for your dreams? Not past dreams, but real dreams, dreams that will help you to progress the way you wanted to.
The chorus introduces into the atmosphere of the song. Reddbone’s voice softens it.
No time to sit down and cry. Time to stay focused on your projects and to do the best you can wherever you are. The song sounds nostalgic and is enhanced with some piano and keyboard sounds. I recommend you that moving song which is certainly a great encouragement never to give up on your projects.
Put Your Hands Up is an entertaining track that is written on a rapid rhythm that will make you enjoy Raw Collection member’s rapid flow.
Enjoy the funny and astute lyrics. Meet Raw Collection in the club, share a bottle of Hennessey with them and cheer up.
Dark bass sounds and rhythmic beats introduce Not Just A Song. This song is about real rap. Back in the streets let them Raw Collection members express about the meaning of life. The song is deep, sad and gets philosophical about ghetto dramas where shootings belong to an all day reality.
Wishfactor is very rhythmic. You can’t touch Raw Collection. The track is very well handled. Reddbone’s performance is beautiful as usual on the track. I encourage you to explore it, you won’t be disappointed. Lyrical, instrumentally well worked on, the track is very much enjoyable.
Raw Collection are a must in your Detroit underground library. Check them out here.

Krumbz’ music is bananas!

Underground Bundle Volume I review
Rating: 4 stars
First let me introduce you into Krumbz’ Underground Bundle album.
Hip hop heads are going to like the Cue Labs intro. Come into Krumbz universe made of chopped up words and mad scratches sounds. Either you buy the album or you are ready to take the sarcastic curse contained in the intro.
Track 2 starts in a theatrical manner: Krumbz uses a classical music background to introduce his Animal Rap Freestyle. Combined with a good hip hop spirit, Krumbz mixes up different styles with an extraordinary dexterity and gets wild with the lyrics. Get caught in his verbal storm and enjoy the music.
A Bee Ceez will make you step in the world of made drugs addiction , bitches and gangsta. Enjoy Krumbz’ flow and lyrical fantasy on those ABCs. Krumbz spits words like a torrent that never runs dry.
Grimey Freestyle makes Krumbz appear as a menace to weak emcees. The chorus will make you feel insecure on purpose.
Bananaz: I told you his music was bananas! Violins added to rhythmic beats, a good flow delivery and a man who likes to play with words will make this track very much enjoyable. Enjoy his numerous variations on the word « bananas », Krumbz is very good at it!
Kiss Of Death is built on a dark musical background made of keyboard sounds. Krumbz is scary as hell and offensive like a true hip hop soldier.
Sickness is written on a piano and keyboards background. Again, Krumbz spits beautifully with lots of confidence. As he goes on rapping, violins and piano introduce a very rhythmic and sick atmosphere.
The track would barely leave wordsmiths indifferent: Krumbz lyrical ability is more than obvious. I also recommend you 114 bar and the last Bananaz track I had the pleasure to listen to for the first time on Da Shadyspot mixtape 2005. Track 11 is an obvious invitation to dance. Enjoy the rhythmic track and have some fun with Krumbz’ ill flow.
Krumbz’ Underground Bundle Volume 1 is definitely worth a look. The emcee from New Jersey handles his art very well. Yes, Krumbz is « bananas ». Check him out: you won’t be disappointed.

Trick Trick/ Holla At Ya Mans video review

Rating: 4 stars
You think Snoop Doggy Dogg and 50 Cent are the tightest P.I.M.Ps in a hustler’s world? Then you probably haven’t crossed Trick Trick and his Goon Sqwad fellow Diezel’s road. Not only are Trick Trick and Diezel from Good Sqwad tight rappers, they are also straight up G’s who run the streets of Detroit.
Meet Trick Trick and Diezel in the club, acting like true hustlers getting big deals, making big money out of their hoes’ asses.
The whole track is very rhythmic and enhanced by some keyboard sounds, monotonous on purpose to make you feel the dirty pimping atmosphere. Watch them hoes and go go dancers submit while Trick Trick and Diezel lead their dirty business. The hood is behind them and making bread is an easy commerce to both OG’s. Big deals, big money, big chains, this is the way true hustlers lead their business.
The video leads you into a filthy universe. Weak stomachs and narrow minded people better not watch it, however laid back gangsta rap lovers will certainly enjoy the video that unveils the dirty world of certified gangstas and hustlers. Trick Trick’s vocal performance is very much enjoyable. His raspy voice adds to the dark atmosphere of the video.
Ass shaking and selling sex belong to the game. You like it dirty, filthy and related to the City of Boom? I bet you’ve never seen an ass like that before.
Globally, the two Goon Sqwad members did a great job. The video shows hard hustling times the way they are. Follow the big Detroit bosses into the club. Welcome to their world. Welcome to the hood Detroit City. Holla at ya mans.
