Eminem accused of assaulting man at strip club (WXYZ Local News article)

July 13, 2006
A man named Miad J. says he was punched in the face by rapper Eminem early Thursday. He says he was hit 4 or 5 times while using the men’s room at a local strip club. Witnesses say Eminem was at the Cheetah’s strip club on 8 Mile Road in Detroit Wednesday night, accompanied by an entourage.
Miad J. spoke to 7 Action News Thursday afternoon and said he was hit by the celebrity rapper at about 1 a.m. Thursday.
Miad says he was in the men’s room, using a urinal next to Eminem, when another man entered the men’s room and started to talk to the rapper.
He says one of Eminem’s bodyguards told the man to be quiet. Miad says he then asked the bodyguard to ease up on the star struck man in the restroom.
“Eminem got done and boom,” Miad recounts. “He started swinging.”
“I wasn’t even expecting it,” Miad said Thursday. “I was just minding my own business, taking a leak.”
Detroit police would like to hear Eminem’s side of the story and then they say they will present their case to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
No one from Eminem’s camp or from Cheetah’s strip club would comment on the alleged incident Thursday evening.
Miad insists it was Eminem who hit him and left him with a knot on the side of his face.
After he was punched, Miad says Eminem left the club and Cheetah’s bouncers threw the rapper’s bodyguards out of the club.
As one of the vehicles in Eminem’s entourage was pulling out from the club, witnesses tell police the rapper known as Trick Trick pulled out a gun. While Trick Trick did not point it at anyone, witnesses outside the club did see the weapon.

Taste a few samples of Proof’s work with Detroit group 5Ela

Proof’s collaborations with 5 Ela are less known from the public’s ear. They are also much more difficult to find on the net. However, I was lucky to find some links thanks to the Iron Fist Fans board.
I will share my impressions with you about three pieces of work, Yester Years EP feat. Proof, The Album That Time Forgot feat. Proof and 5Ela Part 3 feat. Proof.
In fact Proof and Thyme started 5Ela: “I was real cool with Thyme’s little brother, it was actually Thyme and Proof who started the group.” (Mudd). Originally called Tribe Of The Woods, Proof and Mudd changed the group’s name into 5Ela.
The group is a perfect example of artists who work for the love of hip hop. 5 Ela defines itself as “3 man, 5 elements, acting as 1 man” team let’s you know that “It’s 5 Ela 4 Life”
5Ela Part 3 contains lyrically and instrumentally tracks. Either Or is built on an entertaining melody, some catchy beats that are intelligently combined with some well thought lyrics. 5Ela has a unique Detroit flavor: more strikingly, the amazing artists manage to underline their passion for the music and to spice it up with some ill beats.
Trumpets and drums introduce the unforgettable Neva Seen track. Let 5 E transport you into their world. Enjoy the tunes while 5Ela bless the mic.
The Album That Time Forgot introduces you into a rhyming universe. Feel the heat, feel the love, take attention at the astute combination of syllables and value some real local Detroit talent.
Watchawant is a beautiful example of 5Ela’s verbal dexterity. I highly recommend it to the listeners.
Rockshows will humor backstage experiences a little bit. Party Groove is another rhythmic track, enhanced by Proof’s raspy voice. Feel the partying atmosphere and enjoy the track.
Rhymes are all that matter, be sure of it. If you are not convinced yet, listen to Tha Elements, a track in which Proof and 5 Ela combine their incredible talents.
Yester Years is a Big Proof-5Ela collaboration that goes back to 1996.
Searching will allow you to discover a well-handled Proof solo made of astute syllable combination spiced up with a solid sense of humor.
Violins as a musical background, some allusions to porn star Janet Acme introduce you into a filthy universe.
Don’t Stop fully enlightens Thyme’s lyrical skills and rapid flow delivery. Thyme’s flow is just unstoppable, the listener will feel like Thyme suspends his breathing. I highly recommend the track to the true hip hop heads.
Sun Flower is built crazy beats and xylophone musical background that are intelligently combined with 5Ela  and Proof‘s lyrical abilities.
Yester Years has the flavor of those good old Detroit songs.
You will be able to download Proof and 5Ela songs here.
Not each link is currently working. But I think that you’ll be able to download most of the music mentioned on 5Ela’s website. Enjoy some good hip hop thanks to RIP Proof and his fellows.

People dare to steal my articles!

Ok…first of all…I’d like to address to the people who dare to come and steal the fruit of hours of work:
-I might not know who you are since you post what you steal under a hidden name on your worthless groupie forums. However, I’d like to WARN YOU. All of my work is protected under my copyright- in case you ever heard of the meaning of the word copyright. May I gently remind you that if I sue you about the articles you steal with no remorse, I WILL WIN IN COURT.

and from now on my copyright will be added UNDER EACH POST! So i dare you!!! Keep on stealing and as soon as i will know who you are (it is quite easy to discover ppl’s identities on the net) YOU WILL GET SUED.
To the little disrespectful prick who stole my DMX review (you know who you are), I’m not kidding. Better remove it or at least add my copyright unless you want to get into some SERIOUS trouble.
To my regular readers, don’t be surprised if I add my copyright to each of my articles from now on.
I am pissed at all those bored and uncreative people who FEEL THE NEED to steal other ppl’s work without giving them any credit.
I have been working for three years as a freelance music journalist and i won’t let you steal my work as if it was nothing, bunch of assholes! Either you sit down with your lazy ass and write your own shit or you give credit to the people whose work you copy! I’m not cool with your behaviors and will never be. So now you know.

Adam Shoucair aka A.M.A: bridging the Orient with detroit hip hop

Adam Shoucair aka A.M.A is an Arab American of Lebanese origins. A.M.A stands for All Mighty Ameer.
His music is the mirror of his life, it is rich of oriental sounds combined with the Detroit flavor, reflecting his life in Lebanon and America.
Preview Club Girl is precisely an example of this astute oriental/ occidental combination of sounds. At the beginning, the listener is invited into a very festive and typically Lebanese sounding atmosphere: rich of buzuk ( a chordophone) and oriental flute sounds, the track is followed by A.M.A’s raps that will allow you to picture a change of landscape and picture yourself into a Detroit club.
This song is a must hear for all of you who are in search of original hip hop.
Decapitate has some raw and sarcastic accents. Welcome to Adam Shoucair’s lyrical world:
« Excuse Me’ while I de.cap.i.tate’ your Hate at a Rate of Impeccable resuscitation ‘in translation ‘This is my way of communicatin’ »
Violins in the background will make you feel the insecure dimension of the song.
All My Life is mixed up with the Islamic confession of faith and bomb sounds in the backgrounds. Feel a man on the run, trying to escape bullets. Anxiousness is reinforced by very rapid beats that make you feel situations with no escape. Adam’s world is unsafe and the listener will acknowledge it in no time.
