Eminem Splits From Kim Mathers – Again

Eminem’s dysfunctional relationship with wife Kim has hit another low – he filed divorce papers Wednesday, less than three months after remarrying her.
The filing on behalf of Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem’s real name, was confirmed by Eminem’s publicist, Dennis Dennehy, and two employees of the Macomb County clerk’s office. They didn’t provide their names, citing an office policy.
Dennehy had no other comment Wednesday.
The Grammy- and Oscar-winning rapper and Mathers remarried Jan. 14, a month after the couple announced they were getting back together.
Their first marriage ended after two-plus years in October 2001 in an ugly legal fight that included a custody battle over their daughter, Hailie.
Though the marital issues of most rappers wouldn’t make headlines, Eminem has used his tormented relationship with Kim, his high school sweetheart, as a source of his most popular and demented rhymes. He’s killed her off in song and assailed her with his lyrics – but that was before they got back together.
Eminem, 33, and Mathers, 30, reconciled in late 2004, and he announced in December 2005 that they would get back together.
The pair grew up in the suburbs along Eight Mile Road, Detroit’s northern border.
Last August, it was announced that Eminem had entered a hospital to undergo treatment for sleep medication dependency. A month earlier, he denied reports that he was preparing to retire from recording.
Eminem rose to pop stardom by delivering a number of best-selling CDs, deeply personal lyrics and a starring role in the 2002 film “8 Mile.”
He has won nine Grammys, including best rap album for “The Slim Shady LP,” “The Marshall Mathers LP” and “The Eminem Show.” He won an Oscar for the song “Lose Yourself” from “8 Mile.”

  3. I agree. Marshall’s had a tough year already. I hope everything goes smoothly & that he’s gonna be ok. I hope he doesn’t have an emotional breakdown or something because he’s been sick lately. I really wish him well, him & those girls. He’s been working really hard to keep his family together but I knew something like this was prone to happen. I know Kim had to do something to hurt him. I felt is was a bad idea when I first heard about it, but as a fan I wished him well. It is Em & Kim were talking about here.

  4. I just read an article on Yahoo that says this divorce caught Kim off guard. It surprised her! This is what it says as a reason why:
    “”There has been a breakdown in the marriage relationship to the extent that the objects of matrimony have been destroyed and there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved,” according to the filing, which was made in Macomb County on Wednesday on behalf of Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem’s real name.”
    I wish him the best. He is filing for joint custody of Hailie it says as well! I wish him luck!! My heart goes out to him and the girls at this time and always!

    Who knows what really happened. The word on the street, via the media, who can also be false givers of info., is that Kim wanted him to herself, and he wanted to go back to the business, which makes him tick. Also, that Kim it back on drugs. Marshall is very private and very good in keeping his private life that.

  9. Just heard Kim on 95.5 radio station and she said he left home about a month and half ago. Then she implied that he was having that problem still and she wants him to go to rehab. They asked her if she wanted to say anything to Em in case he is listening. She replied She loves him and if he needs to talk she is there for him.
    Very strange turn around.

    A day after being served with divorce papers by hip-hop superstar Eminem, Kimberley Mathers called into WKQI-FM’s (95.5) “Mojo in the Morning” show and gave her side of the story.
    She alleged Eminem is again struggling with drug addiction and said she hasn’t talked to him in more than a month.
    “He’s having problems with, you know, his problem that he had,” Kim said, referring to Eminem’s stint in rehab last summer for addiction to sleep medication. “I was hoping we could get counseling and work it out, you know?
    “I hope, in his best interest, that he does return to rehab,” she said during the phone call, which took place just after 9 a.m. this morning. She said Em is “not himself,” and she sees him doing “a lot of the same things that I did when I had my problem.”
    Kim was in and out of rehab facilities a few years ago following a cocaine possession charge in 2004. She said today she will have been clean for two years come June 14.
    Kim said Em rushed their January wedding because it was “security for him, with all the other problems that he had going on,” including the question of whether he was going to hang up his microphone.
    She said even after being served with divorce papers Wednesday, she still hopes they can work things out.
    “I don’t really necessarily want to get divorced. I want to see it out,” she said.

    “Eminem’s response sent via e-mail: The details surrounding both my marriage and subsequent filing for divorce are private and I had hoped to keep them that way for the sake of my family. However, a few of Kim’s statements in the interview this morning need to be addressed. First, her allegations regarding my status post-rehab are both untrue and unfortunate. Second, she was aware that I was filing for divorce. We both tried to give our marriage another chance and quickly realized that a wedding doesn’t fix the underlying problems.”

  13. Well guys maybe this proves one thing. Isabelle maybe you were right. This whole wedding was a montage and maybe they didn’t get married they only faked it so the press would get off there backs.or maybe they got married way earlier than the date that was set. But who can blame Em it isn’t just his fault that his marriage won’t work. Kim doesn’t believe him and she always makes the worst of one situation.
    I would love to have the money that Em and many other celebs have but id hate to give up the life that ive got. I may not live in America, i don’t drive a fancy car and i dont live in a nice house but i would hate to be under the watchfull eye of the paperatzi, and the press who continually spread lies, watchs every move i make, makes every situation become my fault. It would turn me to drugs and even to sucicide and its then that you finally reliase that your life will never be harder than somebody elses, and that the easy way isn’t the highway.

  14. I never implied that they faked their marriage…I just keep thinking that the wedding pic is a fake.
    Since I have seen Eminem’s divorce papers, it is quite obvious that this marriage actually happened.
    I won’t comment on Eminem’s divorce. I don’t feel like commenting on that issue. We don’t know what really happened inside of their couple.

  17. I never ment to imply that either Isabelle and i’m terribly sorry about what i said if did imply that.
    after reading the article yesterday i went and watched 8 mile again, and it amazed me once again. How’s sombodys life turned from being nobody to being famous and now Em probley wishes that he had never become famous. I am known around my area for trying to break into the music industry but know i don’t want too, watching every other stars lives turn from normal and slowly torn apart by press and papratzis. One day i’d love to get married, but with the world watching i really would’t want too.
